Tutor in English is designed for teenagers and adults who are learning (or perfecting) their English language skills. 

Tutor in English is especially for students who need or want extra help with English, businesspeople who would like to be able to converse more easily in English language situations, and travelers to English language environments.

However, a Tutor in English can useful for anyone wishing to improve their English.

Our online instructors are highly-educated English teachers in India.  Each has been pre-screened and interviewed to make sure that they are fully qualified to work with you.
 

How do we meet?   back to top

You will meet your tutor online using a headset, a webcam, and a program called Skype.  With Skype you can talk to and see each other in real time.  It is not so different from meeting face-to face.

Your tutor will arrange the materials that you will each use and chat box is available for writing explanations.
 

How do I get started?   back to top

Simply go to our Join page and fill out our online application. 

Then make your first month's payment of €9.99 €3.  Next you will receive an email from your chosen tutor within one business day.  He or she will make arrangements with you to have your first lesson together.

If you feel that you are not satisfied with your first lesson and would like another tutor, just email us and we will help you find another tutor.  (Not available until January 2009)

What kind of equipment do I need?   back to top

First of all, you will need a computer with a sound card and a video card.  Most computers have both of these.  If you can watch a video online, you should be okay.

A broadband internet speed is important.  Dial-up doesn't work well.

You will need a good quality headset with a microphone.  Without it, you or your tutor may hear a lot of static.  We also highly recommend a good webcam which can be purchased at any electronic store.

Getting Skype is easy and free.  Just go to www.skype.com and follow the download instructions. 

Your instructor will give you his or her Skype name once you are ready to get started with your lessons and you can add it to your list of contacts.
 

How much is it?   back to top

The cost is €9.99 per month + €8-10 per hour depending on your tutor's fees.  In comparison, most British and North American tutors charge from €30 to €100 for the same service.

We accept credit cards and online checks.

Your monthly membership fee will be billed automatically for as long as you choose to remain in our program.

You can pay the tutor directly with a credit card or an online check using the highly-acclaimed payment system PayPal.
